Superintendent

Dr. Tonia Warzecha joined the Dakota Valley team as Superintendent of Schools on July 1, 2021. Dr. Warzecha serves as the 4th Superintendent of Dakota Valley in its 30 years of history. 

Dr. Warzecha was the Director of Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment of Tea Area School District from 2014-2021. In this role, she provided leadership to 250 staff serving nearly 2,000 students in a rapidly growing district in the Sioux Falls metro area. She conducted professional development opportunities, led the efforts in aligning instruction, assessment, and grading and led various district initiatives focused on school improvement and STEM development. 

Prior to 2014, she served in a variety of leadership and elementary teaching roles both in South Dakota and Minnesota. Dr. Warzecha earned her Masters, Specialist, and Doctoral degrees from the University of South Dakota in Educational Leadership and has more than 20 years experience in education. She was named South Dakota Curriculum Leader of the Year in 2021 and Project Lead The Way STEM Teacher of the Year in 2014.
