Dakota Valley is happy to announce that we have been approved to provide a summer meal program for all students residing in the district again this summer. The federal program provides breakfast and lunch to children ages 18 and under through the USDA pandemic emergency feeding program.
The Federal Government determines the regulations for the summer program and this summer the USDA program requires that ONLY the parent or the child themselves can pick up the meals. As an example, a Grandparent could come WITH the child and pick up the meals, but a Grandparent by themselves can-not come to school to pick up the meals. We realize this is different than last summer, but we are required to follow the USDA pandemic emergency feeding program rules and regulations.
Distribution of meals will begin on Tuesday, May 25th and be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Pickup will be at the Dakota Valley High School Commons. If you do not have transportation to pick up meals, please call Brenda at 605-422-3800 and we will attempt to coordinate meal delivery. We will need at least a two business day lead time to attempt to coordinate delivery, so please place that request as soon as possible.
