Dear Dakota Valley School District Families,
At this time, we will be utilizing a platform called Planbook, which many families may already be familiar with, in order to communicate all lesson content and directions to families.
At this time, if you DO NOT have internet access OR if you DO NOT have a device other than a phone for your children to access online content, please call the district administration office at (605) 422-3800. If no one is available, please leave a message. If there is a sibling in grades 6-12 who has a school-provided device, we ask that during these unusual times, please allow all children to access that device if there are no others in the home.
The teachers will be updating their lessons on a regular basis. Right now the instruction and activities being provided are important for student learning. As far as any make-up days, the state has been asked, and as of yet, the state has not provided direction as to if these missed days will be expected to be added on to the school year. Currently the state continues to say they are taking things week by week and are waiting to see how things develop before they provide further clarification.
We ask that all of our students give their best effort in this unique situation. Our staff will help anyone who is struggling. Our special education teachers will be individually contacting families.
