Greetings from the Dakota Valley Upper Elementary/Middle School Building!
It is with excitement that I am welcoming everyone to the 2020/21 school year! I really am looking forward to getting to know all of you as I begin my first year at Dakota Valley. I am bringing 26 years of teaching and administrative experience to this position. My main focus for all of our staff and myself is to build positive relationships with all students. This will prepare us to help them see their potential and provide them with tools to set high goals and work to reaching those goals. Always shoot for the moon, if you fail you will still end up in the stars!
Your children will be provided the best education possible in a fun, safe, and community atmosphere. We have a great staff, amazing students, and supportive families and that is a recipe for academic achievement and individual growth for ALL students! Dakota Valley prides itself in teaching a well-rounded education with the best interests of our students at the fore front of all decisions.
On a personal note, I am a graduate of Northern State University with an elementary education degree and a masters degree from the University of Sioux Falls in educational leadership/administration. I have spent the last 22 years in the Parker School District as a teacher for 16 years and secondary principal/activities director for 6 years. I am a long time coach of various activities including football, basketball and track. My family includes wife Marci and children Landon (Senior at SDSU), Grace (Soph. at USD) and JJ (Jr. at Parker High). Hobbies include watching any sporting events, golfing, spending time with family and rooting for the Cowboys!
As we move into the new school year, please find ways to see the positive in all situations and help teach your children how to always learn from adversity and move forward in a positive direction. We are looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead and together we can find ways to achieve great things.
