Hi!! My name is Darla Hamm. Welcome to Mrs. Hamm's 6th Grade Math Class! Here is a little bit about me...I was born and raised in Colorado. I graduated from Regis University with an emphasis in Elementary Education in 2000. After graduating, I moved to South Dakota, and I began my career in education in 2001 when I joined the PDC Program at USD, where I had a mentor teacher and taught 4th grade here at Dakota Valley! In the PDC Program I earned my Masters of Arts Degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood endorsement. In 2002, I got my first job teaching 1st grade at St. Agnes in Vermillion, and I got married to my husband, John. We have three wonderful children who keep us busy: Austin is in 11th grade and our twins, Aidan & Hailey, are in 8th grade now. I taught four years in 1st grade and then two years in Preschool before I accepted the Principal Position. I went back to USD to earn my degree in PK-12 Administration, and I was the Principal at St. Agnes for 10 years. This is my third year back here at Dakota Valley where it all started 19 years ago. I am loving being back in the classroom and I enjoy being a part of the DV Family! Go Panthers!
